Antica Chroman
Educational Psychologist and Behavior Analyst
Ed.S., LEP, BCBA, ABSNP
I am a Licensed Educational Psychologist, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and Diplomat of the American Board of School Neuropsychologist who specializes in evaluating Specific Learning Disabilities including Dyslexia (reading), Dyscalculia (math), and Dysgraphia (writing), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Traumatic Brain Injury, Chromosome Disorders, Gifted children, and Autism. I am certified to administer neuropsychological assessments, which examines all neuropsychological processes: sensorimotor, attention, visual perception, language processing, memory and learning, executive functioning, cognitive abilities, social/emotional and academic achievement. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) I provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) interventions for the classroom and/or home environment.
I've dedicated my life to working with children, and parents to develop evidenced-based interventions that support the learning of children. Throughout my career experiences, I've found there are endless factors that can contribute to difficulties when learning new or recalling old information. I believe that acquiring the knowledge of how we learn information through an extensive psychoeducational evaluation is the first step in unlocking our full capability. Once we can identify our unique way of learning we are able to create interventions and set up strategies that support learning to it's fullest. Understanding our strengths and challenges as it relates to our cognitive profile is crucial for understanding how to reach our greatest potential.
I have been working as an Educational Psychologist for the past 11 years supporting children 5 years of age to 22 years. During those years, I've worked as a BCBA in San Diego County where I developed a district wide positive behavior support team that supported children with behavioral challenges. I taught staff effective ABA interventions and conducted several trainings related to behavior techniques, and approaches throughout the district for administrators, teachers, instructional assistants, transportation staff, and parents. Prior to working in San Diego County, I worked in Santa Barbara County, as an educational psychologist for 7 years. At that time, I conducted psychoeducational, and neuropsychological assessments that supported parents, and teachers to design, and create individualized education plans (IEP). I also provided behavior support, and counseling services to support the social and emotional needs of each child.
