Initial Consultation: Prior to working with your child we will discuss the current concerns and background information. You will be asked to supply examples of your child’s school work, report cards, and standardized testing, if available.
Evaluation: The evaluation will take place over several days. It may include the following:
- Intellectual Functioning
- Cognitive Efficiency, Cognitive Fluency, Processing Speed
- Memory and Learning
- Language (including auditory processing)
- Motor and Visual Perception
- Academic Achievement
- Social/Emotional Development
- Attention and Executive Functions
- Adaptive Behavior
- Developmental Levels
- Interviews
- Observations
- Review of educational and other pertinent records
Report: When the assessments are complete, you will be given a report with an explanation of test scores and how they relate to your child’s psychoeducational profile. The report will include strengths and weaknesses as well as suggested interventions/recommendations for any specific areas of challenge for helping your child.
Follow-Up Meeting: Assessment results will be presented and interpreted to parents and/or guardians. Interventions and recommendations will also be discussed.
